1) Web Filtering - Preventing access to Inappropriate Websites.

A good web Filtering software package like Secureweb, will monitor access to the internet and block any web pages which contain unacceptable material, eg. pornography, illegal drug, violence, etc. It also allows multiple users on the same computer each having different internet restrictions.
The software can be also be configured to send a daily log to a parent or friend of all internet activity.

3) General Advice

Keep the computer in an open area where everyone is, so you can see what is happening on the internet and thereby minimise the possibility of people accessing unacceptable material without others realising. Try not to install a PC in a private room without internet web protection.

i) Agree a Family Internet Pratice and Policy

ii) Review the Internet History log of your PC if you suspect problems. Be aware this can easily be deleted.

iii) How to find and review the Internet History in Internet Explorer?

Click the Tools menu in Internet Explorer and select Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog window will appear.

On the General tab, click "settings".
In the "Settings" window, click the "View Files..." button.
The new window displays all of the Temporary Internet Files / History stored on the computer and their location on the local hard drive. The window also displays the URL (the website address) that each temporary file came from.
